RESUMO

Nearly a decade has passed since the discovery of superconductivity in CrAs, but until now, the discovered structure types of chromium-based superconductors are still scanty. It is urgent to expand this family to decipher the interplay between magnetism and superconductivity penetratingly. Here, we report the observation of superconductivity in ferromagnet CrSbSe3 with a quasi-one-dimensional structure under high pressure. Under compression, CrSbSe3 undergoes an insulator-to-metal transition and sequential isostructural phase transitions accompanied by volume collapse. Superconductivity emerges at 32.8 GPa concomitant with metallization in CrSbSe3. A maximum superconducting transition temperature Tc of 7.7 K is achieved at 57.9 GPa benefiting from both the phonon softening and the enhanced p-d hybridization between Se and Cr in CrSbSe3. The discovery of superconductivity in CrSbSe3 expands the existing chromium-based superconductor family and sheds light on the search for concealed superconductivity in low-dimensional van der Waals materials.

Purpose: The Diagnosis-Related Group (DRG) or Diagnosis-Intervention Packet (DIP) payment system, now introduced in China, intends to streamline healthcare billing practices. However, its implications for clinical pharmacists, pivotal stakeholders in the healthcare system, remain inadequately explored. This study sought to assess the perceptions, challenges, and roles of clinical pharmacists in China following the introduction of the DRG or DIP payment system. Methods: Qualitative interviews were conducted among a sample of clinical pharmacists. Ten semi-structured interviews were conducted, either online or face to face. Thematic analysis was employed to identify key insights and concerns related to their professional landscape under the DRG or DIP system. Results: Clinical pharmacists exhibited variable awareness levels about the DRG or DIP system. Their roles have undergone shifts, creating a balance between traditional responsibilities and new obligations dictated by the DRG or DIP system. Professional development, particularly concerning health economics and DRG-based or DIP-based patient care, was highlighted as a key need. There were calls for policy support at both healthcare and national levels and a revised, holistic performance assessment system. The demand for more resources, be it in training platforms or personnel, was a recurrent theme. Conclusion: The DRG or DIP system's introduction in China poses both opportunities and challenges for clinical pharmacists. Addressing awareness gaps, offering robust policy support, ensuring adequate resource allocation, and recognizing the evolving role of pharmacists are crucial for harmoniously integrating the DRG or DIP system into the Chinese healthcare paradigm.

OBJECTIVE: Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) has emerged as a serious global public health crisis. In response, 2016, 14 ministries in China, under the leadership of the National Health Commission, collaboratively issued the National Action Plan (NAP) to Contain Antibacterial Resistance (2016-2020). The NAP outlines strategies for medical institutions to adopt stewardship and implement AMR control. The purpose of this study was to comprehend stakeholders' perceptions of the NAP and explore the factors that influence its implementation in medical institutions. METHODS: Semi-structured interviews were conducted with practitioners from medical institution in March and April 2021. Interviews were audio-recorded, transcribed and analyzed using thematic analysis via the framework approach. RESULTS: Twenty practitioners, representing diverse roles (4 administrators, 7 clinicians, 3 microbiologists, 3 pharmacists, 3 nosocomial infection management personnel) from seven institutions, participated in the study. Substantial efforts have been undertaken to regulate the rational use of antibiotics and enhance the management of hospital infections. Participants demonstrated awareness and concern regarding antimicrobial resistance, with widespread support expressed for the NAP. Among all professions, there were varying opinions on whether they felt restricted in their daily work. The tertiary hospitals have established multidisciplinary cooperation mechanisms. Six main themes were identified as both barriers and facilitators to the implementation of the NAP in the medical institutions: individual factors, leadership, multidisciplinary collaboration, patient factors, training and culture. The capacity for administrative attention is constrained or limited, poor enforcement of guidelines, insufficient specialist staff and the liability pressure on clinicians were perceived barriers. To containing AMR in medical institutions, management of hospital infections, the public's knowledge of antibiotics' usage, routine education and multidisciplinary support would be facilitators. CONCLUSIONS: Practitioners from medical institutions were highly supportive for the NAP. Consideration of practitioners' perceived barriers and facilitators might enhance implementation of the NAP to contain antimicrobial resistance.

Two-dimensional (2D) Fe chalcogenides with their rich structures and properties are highly desirable for revealing the torturous transition mechanism of Fe chalcogenides and exploring their potential applications in spintronics and nanoelectronics. Hydrostatic pressure can effectively stimulate phase transitions between various ordered states, allowing one to successfully plot a phase diagram for a given material. Herein, the structural evolution and transport characteristics of 2D FeTe were systematically investigated under extreme conditions by comparing two distinct symmetries, i.e., tetragonal (t) and hexagonal (h) FeTe. We found that t-FeTe presented a pressure-induced transition from an antiferromagnetic state to a ferromagnetic state at ∼3 GPa, corresponding to the tetragonal collapse of the layered structure. Contrarily, the ferromagnetic order of h-FeTe was retained up to 15 GPa, which was evidently confirmed by electrical transport and Raman measurements. Furthermore, T-P phase diagrams for t-FeTe and h-FeTe were mapped under delicate critical conditions. Our results can provide a unique platform to elaborate the extraordinary properties of Fe chalcogenides and further develop their applications.

BACKGROUND: Corynebacterium pyruviciproducens is a recently described species of Corynebacterium. There are few reports on the microbiological characteristics of the new species, and there is a lack of reports on the genomic analysis of the species. RESULTS: This study involved a clinical isolate from the pus of a hospital patient with sebaceous gland abscesses. The clinically isolated strain was identified as C. pyruviciproducens strain WYJY-01. In this study, referring to Koch's postulates, we observed the pathological changes of animal models infected by intraperitoneal injection and subcutaneous injection of pure culture of the strain WYJY-01. Furthermore, the strain WYJY-01 was isolated and cultured again from animal models' subcutaneous abscess drainage fluid. Subsequently, the genomics of the strain WYJY-01 was analyzed. By comparing various gene databases, this study predicted the core secondary metabolite gene cluster of the strain WYJY-01, virulence factor genes carried by prophage, pathogenicity islands, and resistance islands. In addition, the genomes of C. pyruviciproducens strain WYJY-01, ATCC BAA-1742 T, and UMB0763 were analyzed by comparative genomics, and the differential genes of strain WYJY-01 were compared, and their functions were analyzed. CONCLUSION: The findings showed that the strain WYJY-01 had pathogenicity, supplementing the phenotype characteristics of C. pyruviciproducens. Meanwhile, this research revealed the possible molecular mechanism of the pathogenicity of the strain WYJY-01 at the gene level through whole genome sequence analysis, providing a molecular basis for further research.

BACKGROUND: Retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) increases with the survival of late preterm infants, but its relationship with neurodevelopmental outcomes in preterm infants remains controversial. To investigate the relationship between ROP and its severity and adverse neurodevelopmental outcomes in preterm infants. METHODS: We conducted a meta-analysis. All relevant literature before November 2022 were retrieved from PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library Web of Science, CNKI, CBM, Wan fang Data, and VIP Database. According to the inclusion criteria and exclusion criteria, eligible literature were included to conduct clinical trial quality assessment, and the Newcastle-Ottawa scale was used to evaluate the quality of evidence. Meta-analysis was performed using RevMan5.3. Data extraction, quality assessment, and meta-analysis were performed independently by 2 people. Mean difference or standardized mean difference of motor, language and cognitive scores (Bayley III or Bayley II) were used as effect sizes for continuous data analysis, all of which were represented by 95% CI. For heterogeneity (I2 ≥ 50% or P < .10), a random effects model was used, otherwise a fixed effects model was used. RESULTS: A total of 6 literature were included. The results of the ROP group for motor (comprehensive motor, proportional motor, and fine motor), language and cognitive scores were -5.57 (95%CI, -1.43 to 0.04), -0.95 (95%CI, 1.4-0.50), -1.34 (95% CI, 1.77-0.92), -1.75 (95% CI, 2.26-1.24) and -5.56 (95% CI, 9.56-1.57). Additionally, the results of severe ROP group for motor (comprehensive motor, proportional motor, fine motor), language and cognitive scores were -8.32 (95%CI, -8.91 to 7.74), -1.10 (95%CI, -1.83 to -0.36), -1.08 (95%CI, -1.75 to -0.41), -7.03 (95%CI, -7.71 to 6.35), and -7.96 (95%CI, -8.5 to -7.42). CONCLUSIONS: The Bayley Scale scores of the ROP group were lower than those of the not ROP group, and the scores of the severe ROP were significantly lower than those of the not severe ROP group. These findings suggest that ROP can indeed delay motor, language and cognitive, especially in severe cases.

In the post-pandemic era, nighttime tourism is vital in promoting the diversified development of tourism, enhancing the vitality of cities, and improving reemployment rates. Using Kunming City, China, as an example, this study used multi-theory and multi-source data to construct an evaluation model of the spatial distribution and suitability of nighttime tourism. The projection pursuit model and spatial analysis method were used to reveal spatial distribution and explore the suitability characteristics and spatial differences of nighttime tourism development. Our results revealed the following: (1) nighttime tourism resources showed a 'large aggregation, small dispersion' spatial distribution pattern, which is characterized by a distribution along the railway line; (2) at present, the spatial distribution of nighttime tourism in Kunming displays a pattern of 'taking a high-density large gathering area as the center and extending around; ' and (3) the most suitable nighttime tourism area accounts for 11.83% of the total land area of Kunming; highly suitable area accounts for 17.53%. The general suitable and unsuitable areas accounted for 43.29% and 27.35%, respectively. The results of this study assist in providing a scientific basis for the strategic planning and development of the nighttime tourism industry in Kunming.

Background: Nitrate is the primary type of nitrogen available to plants, which is absorbed and transported by nitrate transporter 2 (NRT2) at low nitrate conditions. Methods: Genome-wide identification of NRT2 genes in G. hirsutum was performed. Gene expression patterns were revealed using RNA-seq and qRT-PCR. Gene functions were characterized using overexpression in A. thaliana and silencing in G. hirsutum. Protein interactions were verified by yeast two-hybrid and luciferase complementation imaging (LCI) assays. Results: We identified 14, 14, seven, and seven NRT2 proteins in G. hirsutum, G. barbadense, G. raimondii, and G. arboreum. Most NRT2 proteins were predicted in the plasma membrane. The NRT2 genes were classified into four distinct groups through evolutionary relationships, with members of the same group similar in conserved motifs and gene structure. The promoter regions of NRT2 genes included many elements related to growth regulation, phytohormones, and abiotic stresses. Tissue expression pattern results revealed that most GhNRT2 genes were specifically expressed in roots. Under low nitrate conditions, GhNRT2 genes exhibited different expression levels, with GhNRT2.1e being the most up-regulated. Arabidopsis plants overexpressing GhNRT2.1e exhibited increased biomass, nitrogen and nitrate accumulation, nitrogen uptake and utilization efficiency, nitrogen-metabolizing enzyme activity, and amino acid content under low nitrate conditions. In addition, GhNRT2.1e-silenced plants exhibited suppressed nitrate uptake and accumulation, hampered plant growth, affected nitrogen metabolism processes, and reduced tolerance to low nitrate. The results showed that GhNRT2.1e could promote nitrate uptake and transport under low nitrate conditions, thus effectively increasing nitrogen use efficiency (NUE). We found that GhNRT2.1e interacts with GhNAR2.1 by yeast two-hybrid and LCI assays. Discussion: Our research lays the foundation to increase NUE and cultivate new cotton varieties with efficient nitrogen use.

As the first of the six elements of tourism, food is an important part of tourism activities. As an important driving force for the economic development of tourist destinations, food tourism plays an increasingly important role in tourism and has gradually become an important hub connecting tourists, local residents, and tourist destinations. This study takes Yunnan wild mushrooms as a case, obtained data through a questionnaire survey and applied a projection pursuit model (PPM) to explore the driving factors affecting food tourism consumption. Research shows that the quality and abundance of gourmet resources are the most important factors affecting tourist consumption of gourmet foods, and the needs and experiences of tourists also promote their consumption, to a certain extent. This provides a guide for Yunnan Province to expand the source market. Second, we compared PPM with structural equation modeling (SEM) and demonstrated that the former requires less data than the latter and is immune to nonlinearities, interaction effects, and the researchers' excessive prior knowledge. This makes PPM more robust, anti-interference, accurate, and objective than SEM when dealing with problems. Finally, we put forward reasonable suggestions from four aspects of government, enterprises, local residents, and tourists, which provide an effective way for Yunnan Province to develop food tourism. In addition, PPM's advantages in data selection, data processing, and result stability fill the gaps in data processing in the tourism field.

Ferroelectric lead-free KxNa1-xNbO3 (KNN) perovskite, whose piezoelectric properties can be comparable to those of traditional Pb-based systems, has aroused wide concern in recent years. However, the specific influences of the stress field on KNN's structure and piezoelectric properties have not been well clarified and there are few descriptions about the temperature-pressure phase diagram. Here, we analyzed the phonon mode behavior and structural evolution of K0.5Na0.5NbO3-0.05LiNbO3 (KNN-LN) and MnO2-doped single crystals with pressure- and temperature-dependent phase structure variations by theoretical calculation, polarized Raman scattering, and infrared reflectance spectra. The different phase structures can be predicted at high pressure using the CALYPSO method with its same-name code. The rhombohedral → orthorhombic → tetragonal → cubic phase transition process can be discovered in detail by Raman spectra under different temperatures and pressures. The phase coexistence on the thermal phase boundary was confirmed by basic anastomosis. Meanwhile, it was found that the substitution of Mn in the NbO6 octahedron aggravates the deformation of high pressure on KNN-LN and the substitution of Mn at the B-site intensifies the structural evolution more severely than at the A-site. The present study aims at exploring octahedra tilt, phonon vibrations, and the internal structure on the general critical phase boundary in KNN-LN crystals. It provides effective help for the study of lead-free perovskite phase transformation and the improvement in piezoelectric properties under a high-pressure field.

The importance of electronic structure evolutions and reconstitutions is widely acknowledged for strongly correlated systems. The precise effect of pressurized Fermi surface topology on metallization and superconductivity is a much-debated topic. In this work, an evolution from insulating to metallic behavior, followed by a superconducting transition, is systematically investigated in SnS2 under high pressure. In-situ X-ray diffraction measurements show the stability of the trigonal structure under compression. Interestingly, a Lifshitz transition, which has an important bearing on the metallization and superconductivity, is identified by the first-principles calculations between 35 and 40 GPa. Our findings provide a unique playground for exploring the relationship of electronic structure, metallization, and superconductivity under high pressure without crystal structural collapse.

The occurrence of major health events can have a significant impact on public mood and mental health. In this study, we selected Shanghai during the 2019 novel coronavirus pandemic as a case study and Weibo texts as the data source. The ERNIE pre-training model was used to classify the text data into five emotional categories: gratitude, confidence, sadness, anger, and no emotion. The changes in public sentiment and potential influencing factors were analyzed with the emotional sequence diagram method. We also examined the causal relationship between the epidemic and public sentiment, as well as positive and negative emotions. The study found: (1) public sentiment during the epidemic was primarily affected by public behavior, government behavior, and the severity of the epidemic. (2) From the perspective of time series changes, the changes in public emotions during the epidemic were divided into emotional fermentation, emotional climax, and emotional chaos periods. (3) There was a clear causal relationship between the epidemic and the changes in public emotions, and the impact on negative emotions was greater than that of positive emotions. Additionally, positive emotions had a certain inhibitory effect on negative emotions.

Against the background of "the emotional turn" in geography, the study of emotional identification is attracting increasing attention among researchers. Edible landscape resources can satisfy the emotional needs of teachers and students by enabling them to experience pastoral landscapes that carry cultural and landscape values to campus environments. Based on a questionnaire survey of 419 students and teachers at Chenggong University Town in China, this study improved the structural equation modeling (SEM) method to construct a model to analyze the emotional identification mechanism of the campus edible landscape. The research found that emotional identification played an intermediary role between perception and behavioral intention, manifested as an association mechanism in which surface values influence perception, perception influences emotional identification, and emotional identification influences behavioral intention. The emotional identification model revealed the relationship between teachers and students' emotional identification and the value of campus edible landscape resources for the first time. It also uncovered the universality of the association mechanism in the research of emotional geography.

Class III peroxidase (PRX) genes play essential roles in various processes, such as auxin catabolism, removal of H2O2, crosslinking cell wall components, and response to biotic and abiotic stresses. In this study, we identified 166, 78 and 89 PRX genes from G. hirsutum, G. arboretum and G. raimondii, respectively. These PRX genes were classified into seven subfamilies based on phylogenetic tree analysis and the classification of PRX genes in Arabidopsis. Segmental duplication and purifying selection were the major factors driving the evolution of GhPRXs. GO and KEGG enrichment analysis revealed that GhPRX genes were mainly associated with responding to oxidative stresses, peroxidase activities and phenylpropanoid biosynthesis pathways. Transcriptome data analysis showed that GhPRX genes expression were significantly different in microspore development between the sterility line-JinA and the maintainer line MB177. We confirmed the up-regulation of GhPRX107 and down-regulation of GhPRX128 in the sterile line compared to its maintainer line using qRT-PCR, suggesting their roles in pollen fertility. In addition, silencing GhPRX107 in cotton showed a significant decrease of the reactive oxygen species (ROS) levels of microsporocyte stage anthers compared to control. Overexpressing GhPRX107 in Arabidopsis significantly increased the ROS levels of anthers compared to wild type. In conclusion, we identified GhPRX107 as a determinant of ROS levels in anther. This work sets a foundation for PRX studies in pollen development.

The TaAs family (NbAs, TaAs, NbP, TaP) are kinds of Weyl semimetals with lots of novel properties, thus attracting considerable attention in recent years. Here, we systematically studied the Weyl semimetal NbP up to 72 GPa through the resistivity, Raman spectra, X-ray diffraction measurements, and first-principles density functional theory (DFT) calculations. A pressure-induced semimetal-metal transition was observed at ∼36 GPa, which was further confirmed by the DFT calculations. With further compression up to 52 GPa, a superconducting state was observed. Interestingly, the Tc increases significantly upon decompression and shows a dome-shaped trend as a function of pressure. Surprisingly, the pressure-induced superconductivity can be quenched to ambient pressure, and all transitions under pressure do not involve any structural change. Our work not only depicts a phase diagram of the NbP system under high pressure but also provides a new experimental insight for superconductivity in Weyl semimetals.

Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb) evades host clearance by inhibiting autophagy. MicroRNA-25 (miR-25) expression was significantly up-regulated in the lung tissues of mice infected with Bacillus Calmette-Guerin (BCG) and macrophages infected with Mtb or BCG, especially in the early stages of infection. MiR-25 can significantly increase the survival of Mtb and BCG in macrophages. We validated that miR-25 targets the NPC1 protein located on the lysosomal membrane, resulting in damage to lysosomal function, thereby inhibiting autophagolysosome formation and promoting the survival of Mtb and BCG. Consistently, mice lacking miR-25 exhibited more resistant to BCG infection. In addition, we found that Rv1759c induces the expression of miR-25 through NFKB inhibitor zeta (NFKBIZ). This study demonstrates that the role of miR-25 during Mtb infection contributes to a better understanding of the pathogenesis of tuberculosis (TB).

Indium telluride (In2Te3) is a typical layered material among III-IV families that are extremely sensitive to pressure and strain. Here, we use a combination of high-pressure electric transport, Raman, XRD, and first-principles calculations to study the electronic properties and structural evolution characteristics of In2Te3 under high pressure. Our results reveal the evidence of isostructure electronic transitions. First-principle calculations demonstrate that the evolution of phonon modes is associated with the transition from semiconductor to metal due to the increase in the density of states near the Fermi level. The pressure-induced metalization as a precursor monitors the structural phase transition, and then the superconductivity is produced. Further, in decompression, Tc slightly increased and remained at 3.0 GPa, and then the disorder is present and the superconductivity is suppressed. Our work not only perfects the superconducting phase of the In-Te system under pressure but also provides a reference for further superconducting research and applications.

Fiber length is an important determinant of fiber quality, and it is a quantitative multi-genic trait. Identifying genes associated with fiber length is of great importance for efforts to improve fiber quality in the context of cotton breeding. Integrating transcriptomic information and details regarding candidate gene regions can aid in candidate gene identification. In the present study, the CCRI45 line and a chromosome segment substitution line (CSSL) with a significantly higher fiber length (MBI7747) were utilized to establish F2 and F2:3 populations. Using a high-density genetic map published previously, six quantitative trait loci (QTLs) associated with fiber length and two QTLs associated with fiber strength were identified on four chromosomes. Within these QTLs, qFL-A07-1, qFL-A12-2, qFL-A12-5, and qFL-D02-1 were identified in two or three environments and confirmed by a meta-analysis. By integrating transcriptomic data from the two parental lines and through qPCR analyses, four genes associated with these QTLs including Cellulose synthase-like protein D3 (CSLD3, GH_A12G2259 for qFL-A12-2), expansin-A1 (EXPA1, GH_A12G1972 for qFL-A12-5), plasmodesmata callose-binding protein 3 (PDCB3, GH_A12G2014 for qFL-A12-5), and Polygalacturonase (At1g48100, GH_D02G0616 for qFL-D02-1) were identified as promising candidate genes associated with fiber length. Overall, these results offer a robust foundation for further studies regarding the molecular basis for fiber length and for efforts to improve cotton fiber quality.

Callose deposition occurs during plant growth and development, as well as when plants are under biotic and abiotic stress. Callose synthase is a key enzyme for the synthesis of callose. In this study, 27, 28, 16, and 15 callose synthase family members were identified in Gossypium hirsutum, Gossypium barbadense, Gossypium raimondii, and Gossypium arboreum using the sequence of Arabidopsis callose synthase. The CalSs were divided into five groups by phylogenetic, gene structure, and conservative motif analysis. The conserved motifs and gene structures of CalSs in each group were highly similar. Based on the analysis of cis-acting elements, it is inferred that GhCalSs were regulated by abiotic stress. WGD/Segmental duplication promoted the amplification of the CalS gene in cotton, and purification selection had an important function in the CalS family. The transcriptome data and qRT-PCR under cold, heat, salt, and PEG treatments showed that GhCalSs were involved in abiotic stress. The expression patterns of GhCalSs were different in various tissues. We predicted that GhCalS4, which was highly expressed in fibers, had an important effect on fiber elongation. Hence, these results help us understand the role of GhCalSs in fiber development and stress response.

Emergent layered Cu-bearing van der Waals (vdW) compounds have great potentials for use in electrocatalysis, lithium batteries, and electronic and optoelectronic devices. However, many of their alluring properties such as potential superconductivity remain unknown. In this work, using CuP2Se as a model compound, we explored its electrical transport and structural evolution at pressures up to ∼60 GPa using both experimental determinations and ab initio calculations. We found that CuP2Se undergoes a semiconductor-to-metal transition at ∼20 GPa at room temperature and a metal-to-superconductor transition at 3.3-5.7 K in the pressure range from 27.0 to 61.4 GPa. At ∼10 and 20 GPa, there are two isostructural changes in the compound, corresponding to, respectively, the emergence of the interlayer coupling and start of interlayer atomic bonding. At a pressure between 35 and 40 GPa, the vdW layers start to slide and then merge, forming a new phase with high coordination numbers. We also found that the Bardeen-Cooper-Schrieffer (BCS) theory describes quite well the pressure dependence of the critical temperature despite occurrence of a possible medium-to-strong electron-phonon coupling, revealing the determinant roles of the enhanced bulk modulus and electron density of states at high pressure. Moreover, nanosizing of CuP2Se at high pressure further increased the critical temperature even at sizes approaching the Anderson limit. These findings would have important implications for developing novel applications of layered vdW compounds through simple pressure tuning of the interlayer coupling.
